What we are all about...
Misfits Unified is a group of passionate artists pioneering truly Collective Art.
Come be a misfit too! Join the Collective Art movement by signing up to our next free event and you too can live the beauty of Collective Art. Since our first collective painting event in January 2016 our creations have evolved into monumental functional sculptures designed for public and private spaces. Our creations have involved hundreds of contributors and include giant sculptures, a magical indoor environment containing artificial hot springs, a fully sculpted recording studio, an amphitheater decorated with dozens of sculptures, a Jungle Book themed temple, a submarine swimming pool and most notably Umbala!, a beautifully sculpted playground, playable just like a board game and fun for all ages.
All of our major creations are undertaken during free community-based art events on the premise that absolutely everybody can create beautiful art irrespective whether they believe they are "creative" or not - you too can join the collective art movement! With the instruction and guidance provided by Misfits Unified during our events, dozens of people have proved to themselves that they too are artists!
Umbala!.. one for all the ages
Misfits Unified would love to collaborate with your city, neighborhood or campus to create the next Umbala! project.
Umbala! is designed to be a giant public art installation and an innovative playground, playable just like a board game and is fun for all the ages. An Umbala! project even encourages involvement from members of the public in the creation process through participation in a public sculpting and painting festival.
Umbala! offers a unique opportunity for your community or your organization to come together, to reconnect with their creativity and to create something truly unique for themselves and the community. Over the years we have been amazed, not only at the quality and creativity of the art created by participants of our events, but also the beautiful sense of unity, pride, joy and camaraderie that all participants felt.

We’re just regular people with a desire to create however never dared to call ourselves ‘artists’. Though our discovery of Collective Art we have found out that although there may be things we cannot achieve alone, there is absolutely nothing we cannot achieve together. Check out all that we have created over the years – our completed projects will show you what happens when we unify our collective vision, inspiration and craft in a truly collective fashion.
